- Function: It is used to assist in the rescue and recovery of liferafts and survival craft. When activated, it transmits a series of pulses that appear on a ship’s radar as a line of dots, providing a bearing to the survival craft.
- Activation: The S100 remains in standby mode until it is automatically activated by an X Band Radar sweep from any vessel in the vicinity.
- Compliance: The device complies with IMO SOLAS regulations, making it a mandatory equipment for certain vessels, including those over 300 gross tonnage engaged in international voyages.
- Features: It has a user-replaceable battery, non-hazardous battery, and a five-year replacement interval. It’s compact and suitable for easy liferaft packing.
