Product Details
- Cylinder: The EEBD includes a compressed air cylinder with a capacity of approximately 600 liters, providing at least 15 minutes of breathing time. The cylinder is charged with breathing air using a compressor, and a suitable adapter ensures proper charging. Alternatively, an external authority can charge it in port.
- Hood & Face Piece: This component supplies oxygen to the wearer from the cylinder. It covers the head and face during evacuation.
- Clear Window (Visor): The face piece has a clear window made of flame-resistant material. It ensures clear visibility for smooth escaping.
- Pressure Indicator: The EEBD features a pressure indicator to monitor remaining air pressure and determine when a recharge is necessary.
- The EEBD is not a firefighting equipment. Its sole purpose is to assist individuals in swiftly evacuating hazardous surroundings.
- It should never be used to fight fires or evacuate casualties.
- EEBDs must comply with the Fire System Safety Code.
- Cargo ships must carry at least 2 EEBDs in the accommodation area.
- Passenger ships must have at least 2 EEBDs in main vertical zones.
- Ships with more than 36 passengers require additional EEBDs in each main vertical zone.
- EEBDs should be easily visible in machinery spaces, especially in the engine control room, workshop, and near escape routes.
- Brief instructions for operation and usage are typically provided with diagrams or pictures.
